The Influencer Series: #FoodPhenomenon

A discussion on the importance of digital media within the F&B industry, and how the rise of social platforms such as Instagram and Facebook has shifted the dialogue between business and consumer. For this session of The Influencer Series, we turn to three different perspectives within the industry for their diverse thoughts and expertise on the#FoodPhenomenon:

The Editor: Lisa Cam, Food Critic and Journalist
As current Editor-in-Chief of Weddily Magazine and Freelance Food Critic & Journalist for publications like Foodie and SCMP, Lisa has done more than her fair share of journalism on F&B/lifestyle trends and their impact on society. Over the past four years, Lisa has seen the clear switch in power from food bloggers to Instagrammers.

The Photographer: Jesper McIlroy, Photographer and Content Director at Maximal Concepts
Jesper works closely with a diverse mix of global brands and publications such as Vogue China, Chanel, National Geographic, Swire Restaurants and Marriott International, to name a few. He has developed a strong niche within the F&B industry and is currently one of the most sought-after food photographers in the region.

The Restauranteur: Kenneth Ng, Director & Deputy General Manager of Dining Workshop (YUM CHA, Urban Park, Dragon Noodles Academy)
Famously known for its playfully presented dishes, Dining Workshop’s flagship brand YUM CHA is no stranger to the power of social media. At the forefront of YUM CHA’s every day operations is Kenneth, who is responsible for all strategic management, business development and operations at Dining Workshop. If anyone knows anything about the Instagram-crazy era of today, it’s Kenneth.
